"Be Brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience"

To add to Paulo Coelho quote, insert: “Have fun!” (after risks) or what’s the point?

That’s Matilda – she’s German. without her, none of my adventures, would be possible.

About Adir

Hi, I’m Adir! You guessed it, pronounced like the animal; “hey look, there’s a deer on the road” – AND HE’S ON A BICYCLE! Now that we got that out of the way, welcome to my travels!

In 2017, I decided it was time to stop the mainstream repetitive punch-in punch-out 9 to 5, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year rat race. I got rid of most of my possessions and started backpacking around the world for the first 2 years. After everything I had but the clothes on my back was stolen in Italy (read the full story here), I turned the lemons I was challenged with, and turned them into a sweet margarita. I used up some savings and bought a German made Bombtrack bike. Her name is Matilda because why not? Helps escape some situations when I can say: “oh, I’m sorry, I need to get back to Matilda now [insert excuse]” – people usually don’t ask who Metilda is, they get the hint.

Since 2019, I’ve been bicycle touring around the world meeting different people, learning about different cultures, and experiencing foods I never imaged I could even look at – before I traveled I wouldn’t even touch fish now there isn’t much that is safe from me expect Balut! (be warned if you are going to google it…). I’ve seen so much beauty from the landscapes this planet provides us, to the kindness of people of all walks of life, who share what they can or invite me into their humble abodes for the night.

During winters, to take a break from the never-ending road, and to pursue the other addiction I can’t kick, teaching snowboarding, I spend my winters in Niseko, Japan teaching, coaching, training instructors, and a bit of guiding through Hokkaido Ski Club. I don’t have a trust fund or much saving.  I work up to 7 days a week in winter teaching max 12hrs a day on snow, in the bitter cold, walking uphill (both ways in deep snow), so I can afford my travels and even have enough to save or donate to different organizations I sometimes ride for to raise awareness or funds for a cause greater than me.

That's me poking my finger through the Look Glass, Utah (south of Moab)
